Divorce Mediation

Empowering Transitions, Fostering Resolutions

You’ve taken the first step towards navigating the process of ending your marriage and exploring your options. Fortunately, you've come to the right place. I am a seasoned counselor and certified divorce mediator, who specializes in conflict resolution through the use of strong boundaries, making me the ideal candidate to help you navigate your divorce. I am uniquely equipped to assist you in resolving disputes and facilitating negotiations that result put you in control, not the court system.

Far too often, divorce is portrayed as a battlefield, filled with tension and the destruction of bridges. Mediation allows parties to create their own solutions, build a new foundation for communication, and help close a chapter so a new one can begin. I will serve as neutral third party to help balance everyone’s interests and desires so that you can come to decisions that are in the best interest for you now and in the future.

What can you expect from Mediation?

Considerable Financial Savings:

Mediation is typically more cost-effective than traditional litigation. By avoiding lengthy court battles, couples can save both time and money. You also only pay for the sessions you schedule. There are no retainers or hidden fees.

Faster Resolution:

Mediation often leads to quicker resolutions compared to lengthy court processes. Couples can move forward with their lives and start the healing process sooner, which can be especially beneficial when children are involved.

You Retain Control:

The two of you make all decisions on what is a fair and equitable agreement. In traditional court proceedings unresolved issues could cost you a lot of time and money, and in some cases could be decided by a judge. My role is to be a neutral third party to nurture healthy communication, even when it has been difficult before, so that you can walk away with all issues resolved and decided by you.

Less Stress and Conflict:

Mediation promotes open and respectful communication, helping to reduce the stress and conflict often associated with divorce. This is particularly important when co-parenting is necessary, because while the marriage is ending, it preserves the respect for the family you have created. You will resolve conflicts about custody, visitation, and who pays for what together. This will create an environment where your children can feel financially and emotionally secure during this new chapter of all your lives.

Confidentiality:

Mediation sessions are confidential, providing a safe and private space for couples to address their issues. Unlike court proceedings, what is discussed in mediation remains private and does not become part of the public record.

A Memorandum of Understanding:

This is what you will walk away from mediation with. It will be all your decisions about money, possessions, and a parenting plan that felt fair and equitable to both parties. After this is completed, a single lawyer to file this document and a single session before a judge is usually sufficient to complete the process.
